Micromixer  

Conception, simulation and prototyping of a micromixer have been accomplished by Bartels microEnginerring for the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). The mixer includes a replacable fluid cell with channels of only 100 µm x 100 µm width, in which minimal amounts of two liquids are being joined in a laminar flow. The central challenge was to create a parallel stream of aggressive fluids on small space and provide a long section for mixture by diffusion. This was achieved using only highly inert materials like PI and PEEK.
